Superhero Birthday Cake

I was tickled when my good friend Stacey of Savvy Expressions Events called me to make her son's birthday cake!  He wanted a superhero theme so this is what I came up with.  The actual superhero/villain are purchased figures, the building is cake (vanilla with chocolate fudge filling; covered in buttercream), the rest of the decorations are fondant and buttercream.

I hope you had a Happy 4th Birthday Eli!!

Congratulations Kelly & Richard

I did this cupcake tower for a wedding a few weeks ago.  I had to reach back a little and include this here on my blog.  Kelly was just one of the nicest brides I could hope for!  We included vanilla cake with raspberry filling, chocolate cake with chocolate filling and champagne cake with orange filling (think mimosa) for this tower.  Each flavor was designated with a different color flower and the card to the side let guests know which flavor they were getting.

The reception was held at the Eastland Suites Hotel in Urbana.  Erica, Eastland's event specialist, was on hand to be sure the event went off smoothly.

I wish all the best to Kelly and Richard for a wonderful life together!!  It was my pleasure to make the cupcakes for you!

We're Rolling Now!

My first post!  I am so excited as I have been on the fence about the blogging thing for a while.  I look forward to sharing what's happening with Erika's Cakes & More!

It is appropriate that my first post includes a picture of a first birthday cake.  I promised one of the most fabulous moms I have met that I would include this cake on my blog so here it is:

It was based on the Li'l Rebel party ware.  Thanks so much Josephine, I am so glad that you enjoyed the cake!
